I'm excited to announce the first phase of The Wired Collection! This collection features small wire sculptures I created, photographed, and then composited into fun scenes. The first two pieces are now ready for display and purchase, with two more pieces coming this year! I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed making them.
This scene reference for a classic fairytale was a daunting project to undergo. The foreground alone took about three images to make correctly and the background was composited in using roughly a dozen images. I hope that all of this hard work astounds everyone who sees it!
This gallery is all about the wonderful little details that many overlook in their cities. As humans, we have quickly dominated the globe, and everywhere we’ve been (and even some places we’ve never been) bare the marks of our existence. I thought it would be nice to capture some of those marks.
There is something truly special about these flowers, and I’m not talking just about their vibrant colors or unique shapes. I shot these flowers on an overcast day on the way up to Mt. Evens, one of our local mountains that reaches an elevation of over 14,000 feet above sea level. These flowers in particular were found at one of the stops along the way which sat at about 11,000 feet.
I’ve been around mountains my whole life, and I am always amazed at what can live in such a difficult environment. My respect runs deep for all forms of life that can take on the difficult combination of blistering winters, less oxygen, and constant bombardment of high winds.
I’ve never really been much of one to take photos of flowers, or wildlife, but the way that these plants have been shaped by their environment really made for some interesting shots. It was an absolute pleasure to edit these photos, and I have been finding interesting ways to bring out the vibrant colors of these flowers.
Colorado is full of beauty thanks to it’s expansive mountains and wildlife. This album is dedicated to some of my favorite scenery and landscapes that I have captured.
I really can’t express how much I love this state and all of the wonderful places within it. There are large plots of sandstone, a large variety of woods, and of course, magnificent mountains. I’m just trying to capture as much of it as I can.
Hello world! This is my friend Anastasia Wilson. She’s a local model that I’ve been collaborating with lately. I’ll be adding more portfolio worthy pieces from our shoots here soon. If you want to hire Anastasia, you can reach her at anastasia.wilson2@aol.com
The world of composite images is a wide and fascinating place. The idea is that you take a few different photos and find a unique way to put them together inside of your photo editing software, such as Photoshop. Composite images range from minimal works of entertainment and comedy, to powerful visual displays, to the realization of abstract concepts.
Abstract Surrealism also covers quite a bit of ground, but to me it means communication through the near materialization of things like feelings, symbolism, and thoughts; things that are pretty much impossible to visualize so literally in real life. Using multiple images to make one piece offers a vast array of story telling possibilities. If you have a little knowledge and skill, you can visualize the impossible!
This album is still young, and doesn’t contain much, but I am incredibly motivated to create more Abstract Surrealist pieces like these two.
The moon aligned with Saturn one dark and starry night. The Harold, hands out, still stained from the paint on his hands. He says five words backwards in latin before lifting his hands towards the conjuring beacon. A strange glow rises from the symbols strewn about the premise. In one motion the symbols flashed upwards towards the sky with a pure beam of light, and then reversed and dragged down all the light from the stars, leaving nothing but black. Then rose the fog making what was previously clear opaque, as did the green glow. The street lights began to pulse in the arriving presence as the Harold knelt in anticipation.
The light, and indeed the very fabric of time, bent around it’s gravity. In the dark of the night, and it’s new found light, a pact was made. The Harold ever patient awaited instructions.
